Cooper University Hospital is a 600 bed, non-profit, academic medical center with state-of-the-art facilities. We are seeking 1-2 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (Masters prepared) to join our NICU staff.
Cooper's NICU features 10,000 square feet of beautifully designed clinical space, offering privacy and comfort to the families in its care. This unit is unique to the region and serves more than 500 infants with medical and surgical problems each year. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of The Children's Regional Hospital has the highest designation for a neonatal center in the State of New Jersey and is equipped to handle all types of newborn emergencies, including those that are related to respiratory or metabolic disorders, birth defects and surgical problems accessing the most Pediatric Specialists in southern New Jersey.
* The Level IIIB NICU is staffed 24/7 with board-certified Neonatologists (6), Cooper Pediatric Residents, NNPs and Neonatal Fellows.
* The last three years, the hospital has averaged more than 500 admissions annually to the 24-bed NICU and 12-bed transitional nursery.
* The unit has a body cooling protocol for infants with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
* Types of ventilators utilized include Conventional, High-Frequency Oscillator and Jet Ventilators and Nitric Oxide is available.
