Seeking a full time Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team and provide direct patient care of complex neonatal patients, attend high risk deliveries, and aid in the education of pediatric residents in our recently renovated 32 bed Level IIIB NICU (no ECMO and no cardiac surgery). Our average daily census is 22 and there are more than 3600 deliveries/year with all pediatric subspecialties available. Our facility is the largest NICU in the US Navy and is the major military referral center for the west coast, Guam and Japan. We are a team of 8 neonatologists and 5 NNPs providing top notch care to military members and their families. Responsibilities include the provision of comprehensive neonatal care, including HFOV, jet ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, total body hypothermia and attendance of high risk deliveries. The ideal candidate is a motivated and flexible individual with two years Level III NNP experience (though not required) and a minimum of 3 years NICU nursing experience. The shifts will be 11 hour days with infrequent 24 hour shifts. There are 2 NNPs and one neonatologist on the NNP team during the day carrying approximately half of the NICU census. There are no transport team responsibilities and the staff neonatologists are in house 24/7. We offer competitive salaries (based on experience) and excellent federal benefits. The NNP must have a current unrestricted license to practice as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in any one of the 50 states or District of Columbia. The applicant MUST be a US citizen and pass a background security check. We are interested in hiring as soon as possible as the hiring process (including security check and credentialing) can be a prolonged period of time. No per diem/part time and no locum tenens. If you would like to speak with our current NNP staff, their office number is 619-532-5330. If interested, please submit your CV to Eileen Hoke, NICU Medical Director, Naval Medical Center San Diego, eileen.m.hoke.mil@mail.mil.
