Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, one of the nation’s premier healthcare institutions, is seeking full time faculty neonatologists. We are committed to excellence in compassionate patient care, research, and educational programs that improve newborn health. The NICU faculty team is dedicated to career development of medical students, pediatric residents, neonatal-perinatal fellows, and junior faculty. Our training programs are affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles.
The Cedars-Sinai NICU is a Level IIIC 45 bed Regional NICU caring for more than 700 complex surgical and medical patients per year, including over 120 babies less than 1500 g. The active high-risk referral delivery service provides care and support for approximately 7,000 deliveries/year. Our NICU is part of a strong maternal-fetal medicine division, with an active maternal-fetal medicine fellowship. We provide an exceptional range of specialty care support including Surgical (General, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, ENT, & Urology), Pediatric subspecialty, Pathology, Genetics, and Imaging. Faculty can participate in active research programs within 9 expanding Research Institutes.
Successful candidates will be eligible for both a Cedars-Sinai professoriate and UCLA appointment. Appointment rank and track will be commensurate with academic experience and productivity. The position offers a wide range of clinical, research and teaching opportunities. Significant research support and protected time is available depending upon interest, promise and productivity.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:
* MD Degree and eligible for California Medical License
* Board certification in General Pediatrics
* Board certification in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (or within three years of Fellowship and board eligible)
* Aptitude and accomplishment in clinical program development, Resident/Fellowship education, healthcare outcomes research into mechanisms of human disease or translational investigation research
* Evidence of longer term scholarly intent
